What really grinds my gears...

...is the lack of innovation in the lighting-rigging industry.  Up and down up and down.  Why do we keep going up and down ladders, grabbing new fixtures...blah blah blah.  Why aren't these trusses equipped with a straight bar of some sort allowing the "light guy" to slide along it.  Or perhaps even something as simple as one of the ladders used in big libraries that slide along the edges.  Making too much sense...or...is this all completely absurd kind of like the idea that the two sexes switch the way we ride horses (MEN side-saddle, and women normal)...just nonsensical?
