Ok so I’ve been thinking of what Ms. Kelleher (my lighting instructor) said the other
day about there being no major updates in the lighting fixture world for so long, but what about the lighting world as a whole. It made me think of the now infamous “Tupac
hologram”. That made me recall some of
the holographic products I’d seen in the army. One such product was a holographic
and interactive globe. When a particular
region was touched, it would expand that area. That small interactive capability made me wonder about the future for the general public in about
30-50 years from now. Will we be able to
interact with holographic products? Might it eventually be more cost effective to have holographic street lights? What about phone apps? Might we see holographic images of those we currently see on screen (Tango, Skype etc.), or will our navigation be more in depth? What kind of products will there be, and which type of products would the
consumer want in a holographic context?
